Kevin Kruger said (in an interview after the speech) that they would be introducing
different things during that two year time frame. He said the first thing would
be safety measures for kids.

Atvbc needs to stay involved with this as much as possible to ensure that the legislation is the best for all riders. Starting with the kids and helmets is a good.

Can support most of what has been postulated by the Government, and absolutely agree that ATVBC and the Clubs need to stay close up with how this evolves.

The one-time registration fee (and licence) is certain to reduce the amount of ATV theft. Jury is out though on how the 'annual licence and fee' plan will be effected. A $0.25 decal for the registration plate, issued by the insurance company when it sells us liability insurance, should be a sufficient display to Stakeholders that the quad-owner is appropriately insured for crossing a highway. Nothing more than that should be necessary.

I received a copy of this overview from Vera Vukelich the Manager resposible for L&R with the Government. This was in response to a query from the BCWF. It give a bit of histroy and an overview of the various phases. There are still a lot more questios out there and when I can I will pass this information on to you. There is a certain level of confidentiality required as we progress in the planning an implimentation of this program. :scratch_head"
