Ride: Grand Forks Spring Fling

GRAND FORKS – 2010 “SPRING FLING” – MAY 22nd, 23rd & 24th

Sat. May 22nd

  • Set up in the morning in the Overwaitea parking lot.
  • Don Frew with ATV/BC will be there with the ATV/BC promotional trailer providing information about registration, licensing, and the availability of ATV safety courses. Don will also be putting on safety demonstrations.
  • B&F Sales and Service will be there with some equipment related to ATVing on display.
  • Good chance to “meet and greet” and get information about equipment, local trails and ATVing in general. Some of our members are very knowledgeable about the trail riding in this area.
  • There will be a BBQ with burgers, hotdogs and refreshments.
  • Throughout the day we will be hosting rides in the area.

Sat Night

  • There is a dance at the seniors hall which will be a great opportunity to meet some new friends and have a good time.

Sun May 23rd

  • Sunday morning we are planning a pancake breakfast at the Overwaitea parking lot to get fuelled up for a day of riding.
  • After breakfast there will be a day of riding on local trails. Details to follow depending on snowpack at the time. Somewhere along the trail we will stop for a wiener roast and lunch break.
  • There should be some opportunity for those interested in trying ATVing to hitch a ride as a passenger for the day. Good chance to see what it’s all about.

Mon May 24rd

  • We will have another ride planned, perhaps a little shorter to allow those coming in from out of town a chance to drive home in the late afternoon.

Camping

  • Just east of Grand Forks at the edge of town there is the Riviera Campground. It is situated right on the number three highway and borders the Kettle River. It is a beautiful spot with lots of room for vehicles and trailers. The campground features new washrooms with showers, Laundromat and internet.
  • Campfires are allowed and there is wood available or you can bring your own.
  • The cost is $20 for no hookups and $27 for full hookup.
