I spent five years working in a sports shop in Clearwater where I sold and repaired motorcycles, snowmobiles and boats. While living in Clearwater I spent a lot of time riding in the back country on bikes and sleds.
I moved back to Vancouver Island and worked in a fabrication shop for five years as a journeyman fabricator and welder. Moving on, I went to work in the woods and became a heavy duty mechanic for the next twenty five years. I have now been retired for the past four years.
In my spare time over the past twenty years I have build about twenty houses. Presently building my last house, this one should last my wife and me for years to come.
I have been riding Quads for the past ten years and have help build many trails in the Duncan and Lake Cowichan area. I was a founding member of the Cowichan Valley ATV Club when it was formed in 2001 and have been a member of the Club as well as ATV/BC since then. I attended the first meeting of ATV/BC in Green Lake in 2000 and have been to most events and AGM's put on by ATV/BC since then.
Having spent twenty five plus years in the woods I have a very good understanding of what goes on the woods regarding safety, and as an avid ATV'er I wanted to learn the basics of safe and responsible riding, so took the Canada Safety Council safety course.
The past ten years of riding have been extremely enjoyable and I look forward to riding in the future and serving the members of ATV/BC.
Ride Safe. Ride Responsibly.
