Biography

  • Married to Mel for 44 years
  • Two children, two grandchildren
  • Working career was with the Richmond School Board as a laboratory Technician.
  • Volunteering for community groups since 1975 always with recreation both indoor (Provincial President of Ringette BC)
    Minor Hockey Publicity Person in Port Coquitlam and out doors (2nd Vice President of the BC Snowmobile Federation.
  • Was a director for BCSF for five years and organized the first Cross Canada Snowmobile trail ride Western section from Winnipeg to Squamish.
  • Organized the first Map book of Snowmobile Trails.
  • Was a director for the Outdoor Recreation Council for two years?
  • Started ATV/BC in 2000 with 50 paid members.
  • Riding since 1992 from their cottage at Green Lake 70 Mile House BC.
  • Attended the first meeting of the Registration and Licensing Coalition and is its co-chair.
  • Meet with government ministries for the past five years working to improve the rules for ATVers.
  • Attended the formation meetings of the National Quad Association now known as AQCC.
  • Set up the first safety training program along with the now Chief Safety Instructor of BC where training of six people to give safety courses to our members.
  • Originated the first environmental brochure to be given to our members and the government ministries.
  • Helped to start numerous ATV clubs by driving to all areas of BC to address the local people.
  • Worked with the BOD to set up a corporate sponsorship program.
  • Worked with the Manufacturers Association for many years.
  • Developed with Ken Anderson an insurance program for the members.
  • Hosted the first ever Jamboree on August 25, 2000 at Green Lake a committee of six people we had five rides, a wine and cheese and a meeting. (50 people attended)
  • Helped start the Quad squad ATV Club in Lone Butte BC.
  • Working with different organizations to ride safely and responsibly since day one.
  • Chairperson of the 2006 Poker rides.
  • President of ATV/BC for the past two years and for the first four years after founding the organization.
  • Currently a director on the ATV/BC Board of Directors.
  • Currently Co-chair of the Registration & Licensing Coalition.
  • Currently serving on the Provincial Trail Strategy Committee.
